Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of gif·ai. By creating an account or using gif·ai, you agree to them. gif·ai is built by ogbuilds, a UK-based studio. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What gif·ai is

gif·ai is an AI tool, delivered as a browser extension and web app, that edits GIFs and images you provide based on a text prompt you enter.

Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use gif·ai. You sign in with Google, and you are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity that happens under it. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

Acceptable use

You agree to use gif·ai lawfully. In particular, you will not:

• upload, edit, or distribute content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, hateful, or sexually exploitative, or that depicts or impersonates a real identifiable person without their consent;
• use gif·ai for any content you do not own or have the rights or permission to edit;
• attempt to bypass credit limits, rate limits, or content safeguards, or scrape, probe, reverse engineer, or otherwise abuse the service or its API;
• use the service in a way that violates a third party's rights or terms.

Our separate Acceptable Use Policy applies in addition to this section.

Credits & payment

gif·ai runs on credits, which you spend to run edits.

• Purchases. Credits are sold as one-time credit packs through Stripe, our payment processor. We do not store your full card details — Stripe handles your payment. By buying a pack you authorise the charge shown at checkout.
• One-time, not a subscription. Credit packs are one-off purchases. There is no recurring subscription and nothing renews automatically; you buy more credits only when you choose to.
• What you get. The number of credits granted for a pack is shown at checkout and added to your balance once payment is confirmed. New accounts also receive a small one-time trial grant of credits to evaluate the product.
• Refunds. Credits are a digital product delivered immediately, so purchases are generally non-refundable once credits are added to your balance, except where a refund is required by applicable law (including your statutory consumer rights). If you believe you were charged in error, contact us.
• Price changes. We may change pack prices or the credits they include for future purchases. Changes do not affect credits you have already bought.

Your content & licence

You keep all rights to the GIFs, images, and prompts you provide, and to the edited results you create. To run an edit, you grant us and our processors a limited licence to host, store, transmit, and process that content for the sole purpose of delivering and supporting the edit you requested — including sending it to our AI provider (fal.ai) to generate the result. We claim no ownership of your content.

AI output

Edits are produced by AI models and are provided as is. Output may be imperfect, unexpected, or unsuitable for a given use. Review results before you rely on, share, or publish them. You are responsible for how you use the output.

Intellectual property

The gif·ai software, brand, and the service itself are owned by ogbuilds. These terms do not grant you any rights in them beyond using the service as intended. We grant you no rights in any third-party content you bring into gif·ai.

Third-party services

gif·ai relies on third parties to operate — Google (sign-in), fal.ai (AI processing), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), and Neon (database). Your use of those services through gif·ai is subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

Disclaimers

gif·ai is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will meet your expectations.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ogbuilds will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for credits in the 12 months before the claim, or £100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Termination

You may stop using gif·ai at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or to protect the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as content licence, IP, disclaimers, and liability) will continue to apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England & Wales.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the date above, and your continued use of gif·ai after a change means you accept the updated terms.
